.... or Greg's Mill as we locals know it, as the founder was called Samuel Greg. The Georgian cotton mill sits on the River Bollin and the huge water wheel was driven by the fast flowing river, which in turn operated the spinning machines. The mill was run as a family business right up to 1959 and my grandmother worked there as a young girl. It is now a working museum and when I go on the tours I look closely at all the photographs to see if I can recognise her. :)
