Now you can see the height of the dam ....only another 60+ steps to go! lol! The shallow water that runs along the base of this wall looked almost black from above. The Derwent dam was built in the early 1900s and was made famous in 1943 when the RAF 617 Squadron used the dams to practise their famous Dambuster raid against the Ruhr dams in Germany.
