When dry land is only about a square foot or so, it doesn't take much to upset the applecart. As I mentioned back in December, I went to Idaho for a family gathering and also got some time in photographing Bald Eagles that congregate on Coer d'alene Lake. They are there for the running of the coho salmon, a landlocked species. For some reason many of the birds would congregate at the far end of the lake. There were plenty of trees to perch on, but they wanted to sit on the few rocks and logs that were available in the water. For you shutter bugs. Nikon 3ds body, 600mm f4 telescopic lens, 1.4 tele-converter, iso 800, f-8, shutter speed 1/320 sec +, no compensation. There was very little light as it was snowing and butt ass cold. I sat out there for some three hours. More images to follow.
