It is the time of the year when this year's crop of babies either sinks or swim (so to speak). Above a Kestrel has caught and is about to dine on a young Yellow Warbler. Young birds are very naive and allow other creatures to get closer than they should. In this case too close. Personally I did not know a Kestrel would take a bird. I have always seen them hovering over a field dropping down on mice, lizards, large bugs and small snakes. Who knew????
