Common Bushtits have been called the pixies of the Chapparal plant community. They travel in often large feeding groups and move in and out of an area searching for tiny insects. Their call sounds like a dog's " squeeky toy " being squeezed. They rarely remain still for very long. Always on the move for that next tasty treat.
