Harems that are closer to the water's edge are more prone to marauding young males looking for a poke. It is a lot easier to get in and out (pun intended) without having to confront a larger Beachmaster. Those young males that make it farther up the sand must confront many Beachmasters. A few feet this way and you are in this guys territory and a few feet that way and you are in that guys territory. Every now and then a young bull will get cornered by a Beachmaster.....
