Can you imagine sitting in the pews, looking up, and listening to a sermon being delivered from here? This is the upstairs chapel of Sainte-Chapelle, built in the 1200s by King Louis IX (Saint Louis). The commoners were relegated to the downstairs chapel (now a gift shop), while royalty took in religion from this room upstairs. Ile de Citi, Paris, France; September, 2015.
