Hi everyone, I know I said we would resume the Alberta Holiday, but I took this image yesterday, May 14 / 2014. Decided to upload this up close Trillium from my neighbours backyard garden among the woods, she has almost 100 of these beauties. As the White Trillium's ages they turn pink.

The White Trillium is Ontario's Provincial flower, also it's the official symbol of the Government of Ontario. The large white trillium is the official Ohio's State Wildflower & Scarlet Carnation is their State Flower.

Trillium's are three large pedals & three leaves, hence the name meaning 3. Picking a trillium seriously injures the plant by preventing the leaf-like bracts from producing food for the next year & takes many years to recover. In reality they are only protected in Provincial Parks and Land Owned by Conservation Authorities. However, the rare Trillium flexipes (Drooping Trillium) is protected by law in Ontario, because of its very small Canadian population. In Michigan and Minnesota it is illegal to pick and/or transplant trillium's from public lands without a permit from the State.

Thought I'd enter this into the Current Contest called "Isolation". What do you think?

I did some work using Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor 10; did cropping, adding detail and also enhanced so to make it really pop.

Thank You in Advance for you comments and taking the time to have a look. Enjoy

Have a Great day, ♥ Skates
