Captured this 2018, 08-06 (Monday AM).

If you view in full you can see his top notch / head feathers haven't all come in yet & their skin is black under the feathers. Northern Cardinals are like the Blue Jays and often experience a complete molt of their head and maybe even their neck feathers.

The last few days haven't seen or heard the Cardinals around, must have moved on. Oh well maybe they'll come back.
