I decided to correct the exposure a bit on this shot, so here it is uploaded again with that improvement. These are the foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains, located about 20 minutes north of Salt Lake City, UT. They are extremely mineral rich (as you can see), and the range is home to the Bingham Canyon Mine, the world's largest and most profitable open pit mine.
