This is a cluster of gourds used as birdhouses by Purple Martins. This shot was taken at the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. There were eight nesting arrays. They stand approximately 10-12 feet in height. The Purple Martins will return to this nesting area in the Summer.
