Just wanted to post this image of the American Flag in celebration of the 4th of July holiday!!! This image shows a portion of the The Howard S. Stainton Memorial Causeway or the 9th Street Bridge as it is commonly called. This bridge links Somers Point, NJ., Route 52 into Ocean City, NJ. over the Great Egg Harbor Bay. (as Ocean City is a barrier island with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the back bay on the west). This project was completed in 2012 at a cost of $400 million dollars. The bridge is 2.2 miles in length and is a four (4) lane highway which includes a pedestrian and bicycle path, fishing piers and a beautiful welcome center. This image was shot from the Ocean City, NJ Welcome Center and in the distance you can see the Longport, NJ/Ocean City, NJ causeway.
