The owner of the house Robert Wynne liked to have his initials around the house, they are all over the place inside. This is the entrance hall fireplace, which has been restored to its original paintwork. A lot of research, time and effort has gone into restoring the house, and its still ongoing. When I was a child, my sister and I would spend many a happy day inside the house playing, all the rooms were empty in those days and not quite as grand as it is now. ( the curators at the time used to let us in for free shh) One thing I hadnt ever noticed before when I had been in the house is that the fireplaces all have a jigsaw effect along the mantles. I only noticed this the other day when I was uploading the pictures from my camera and did a slide show.... so I too am learning something new from this tour. One more exhibit in here and then ladies and gentlemen we will be departing into the kitchens of the house. Thank you for looking. xx
