Welcome to the rooms of Jane Roberts who lived in Plaw Mawr when it was tenements in the 1800's. Jane was a washer woman/ needle woman, who lived in this room with her 3 children. Originally she moved in with her husband and children, but after her husband died her father moved in with her.

Of her two sons Owen and Moses, one was a farm hand and the other a railway worker. We can presume that the farm worker would have worked on the land of Joseph who lived in Attic No 1 Plas Mawr

Jane also had a daughter who ended up living across the house in attic no3 which is not open to the public. Janes room while nice is one room where there has been the most paranormal if you like activity. One example of which I have seen my self. The post to the right, has an apron and a coat hanging on there, and has had for years.

A few weeks ago after some children had been in the room, where I encourage them to touch things in the room, try to hold the irons etc.. well they had made a slight mess on the table before they moved on at their tour. An elderly couple and myself were chatting by the window to the left when suddenly the black coat just fell to the floor in a heap! I thought that perhaps the tag thing that you hang it up with had broken, but that was intact. The elderly lady then suggested that the children could have knocked it in passing and it took its time in falling, but we soon disproved that. I have free roam with the attics in my capacity as steward and I do adore these rooms. I always go in and say hello to Jane and Joseph as soon as I arrive and I dont have any spooky feelings, even on the night walks that we do.
