Mount Desert Island, Maine, USA - Acadia National Park. From the August bin. While at Great Head, one of my favorite spots on MDI, we met four geologist students from the University of Maine who were conducting research. I spoke at some length with this student and suggested he check out this part of the shoreline. At the peak of high tide, he stood on the point, waves splashing around him, entranced by the beauty of this place. Across the body of water is Schoodic Peninsula. (With more snow and freezing rain coming in the next few days, I'll be in denial and relive warmer summer weather.) Enjoy!
