Nearing the end of the backyard tour on Huguenot Street, the Jean Hasbrouck House (1721) north wall was restored from near collapse in 2006. During the restoration, each stone was marked so as to have exact location in the rebuilt wall. As well, it was decided to recreate the windows that were likely in place when the house was built, based on Flemish / Palatinate styles in Europe when the family left for the colony. Other windows, as evidenced by the brick fill, were replacements done in the late 1700s, emulating British style. The wood pediment is in place due to the instability that would exist if the stone wall was carried to a third level and narrowing to a peak. Photographed in the morning, this is a three-exposure HDR image.
