Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. At the edge of the colonial town sits the Christiana Campbell's Tavern, one of a number of taverns and inns in what was once the colonial capital and center of commerce for the tidewater plantations. Mrs. Campbell ran the tavern after her husband died. Today it serves lunch and dinner meals. Rumored is that in the colonial time period there was an underground tunnel from the governor's palace to the tavern. Also rumored was that this tavern offered services that were more than a good meal and a place to sleep. Perhaps the two rumors were linked for what was offered. ;-)
