Yorktown, Virginia, USA. Lord Cornwallis, of British nobility and military commander of the British forces in Yorktown, used the finest house in town as his headquarters. It, and other buildings, was the recipient of products of cannon fire during the siege. A number of cannon ball remain in the house's east wall, including this one in the pediment.
