Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. One of a number of chrysalises that Monarch caterpillars formed in the garden near the milkweed plants. This one chose on the underside of a fence rail, living in the shadows. You can see the walls are getting darker and thinner, and wing colors are becoming visible.
