That's what the herring gull's latin name is apparently. Or to be completely accurate, Larus Argentatus Argentaus. I post this despite my misgivings about these things. For those who haven't seen the story, I was 'mugged' by one in Eastbourne a couple of weeks ago. I was walking down the street eating a sandwich and one flew smack into the back of my head. When I recovered it was there on the ground looking at me, having taken the sandwich from my hand and wolfed it down in one mouthful. This is an early experiment with my new Sigma 70-300mm lens.
