I have to admit that I've been having fun. This planet and its moons were created by using the render clouds filters in Photoshop. Three layers basically, a black and white base, a green and tan land layer, and a blue on blue water layer. I increased the contrast and brightness of the black and white layer and selected just the black areas, and used that selection to punch holes in the blue layer to let the land show through. I used the emboss filter to give the land a little 3D effect. Then I created the clouds and gave them a drop shadow. Last, I took a circular chunk of it and used the spherize filter on it. The starfield was actually more time consuming to do than the planet and moons. Hope you enjoy.
