My favorite headphones (Sony MDR-XB300) started rattling in one ear - it was driving me crazy. So I took a razor blade and cut off the ear cups so I could see what was causing it. There was a piece of loose plastic in one of the drivers. So, with some delicate surgery, I removed it. They sound great now! I just have to figure out how to re-attach the ear cups. Anyway, I've been enjoying my music and doodling away in Photoshop. The music is clean and clear now. I'm in heaven. Listening to M83, Axxis, Elton John, Boston, Yes, Journey, the Weepies, The Wailin' Jennys, Jon McLaughlin, Uriah Heep, James Gang, and so much more! Man, it sounds good.
