This beautiful oasis was sadly burned down when a "controlled" burn got out of control. That happened July of 2010. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints owned the property, and I just read they are rebuilding the site, which was a recreational property used for scouts, ward activities (a ward is what the church calls a congregation), etc. The palms crowded a beautiful, warm spring that appeared here in the middle of the Nevada desert. I took this photo about a year before the fire.
