This is Linganamaki Backwaters. The river you see here is Sharavathi. Linganamakki Dam was constructed to generate hydro-electricity and it was the brain child of a great Engineer Sir M. Vishweshwariah. The same river forms the famous Jog-Falls (The dam is constructed before the falls). During my college days I had a gang and used to bunk classes to come here and swim in these waters. This place is very near to my native and its one of my favorite spots around my town. Its very calm and not many people come here.
