This the Buddha inside the much-photographed Byodo-in Temple on Oahu, Hawaii. In honor of Khao Phansaa (Thai language), Monday, July 30th. It is the commencement of the annual three months when all monks stay inside their temples and monasteries to study and meditate (at least for Thai monks of the most popular form of Buddhism in Thailand, Theravada; it's also probably the oldest form of Buddhism).
