A wildflower growing in the rough, gnarled roots of an oak tree seemed to me to be the perfect subject for this shot. The rain had beaten it down, and the water running down over it had washed it, so it was left bowed yet pristine and shining in the new light after the storm. It seemed an icon of living strength.
