That morning I arose early. The pre-dawn air was crisp, and my sullen car coughed petulantly to life. I had a goal. Some 40 miles away at the end of a levee that bisected the swamp a train track crossed the highway, and allowed me to walk some five miles out into the tidal marshes to a spot where I had a clear view to the east. A teetering steel railway signal tower offered the chance to get 12 feet or so in the air, and I climbed up to the top where a platform gave a fine view above the marsh grass towards the approaching sunrise. Snapping open my tripod I set up and waited. Just as the freezing dawn broke I was rewarded with this view, and my Olympus eVolt did the rest of the work. I think it was worthwhile.
