As many of you know I live in New Orleans, and in New Orleans we bury our dead above the ground, so they don't float up and disturb our parties. This cemetery is the oldest still existing in the city, the oldest having been built over centuries ago. I love walking the cemeteries and reading the names of the dead, many of whom I knew or whose descendants I knew. On one of these occasions I came across this beautiful ironwork, and set about shooting it. It wasn't difficult to see which angle and composition was going to show it off the best. I hope you like it as much as I do.
