There is a sad story behind this picture. The older boy, Brandon, is ten years old and lives in Arequipa, Peru. Brandon's father is dead, and his mother is in the hospital chronically ill with cancer. Because Peruvian healthcare operates differently than American healthcare, Brandon must pay a large regular sum of money to keep his mother in the hospital for treatment. Because of this, Brandon now works a man's job in a printshop all day long, and goes to school at night. Despite this, he is still a happy boy with a positive outlook on life. In this shot, he is taking a minute of his lunch break to play with his boss's son, with whom he lives. Thanks for looking!
