One evening last week I set out to photograph a storm coming in, looking for a good foreground. What I found instead was an interesting subject, with the pending storm as a backdrop. I have always loved the way a pair or group of trees will tend to shoot out branches so as to form a single canopy, if they are growing close enough together. You can see that the two (or three?) trees on the right are in a "canopy partnership" and I believe the long branch sent out on the far right is meant to "balance" the self-sufficient canopy of the tree on the far left. I hope you enjoy this silhouette...and the sunset behind it!
