the purple and white seashells were made into beads for jewelry and currency by the native americans, called 'wampumpeag', or 'wampum' for short... artists all over cape cod now make the shells into beautiful jewelry usually set with silver... the larger shell was only an inch long, and I didn't arrange them, they were just lying like this, nested in the sand...
