I was thrilled to finally see some butterflies on my last visit to the Calendar gardens on Thursday.

We are in the month of Sept. and finally I got to see them, and get some pics.

This is the Painted Lady, and notice what good shape she is in, so late in the season. I wonder if our crazy weather (bad winter) late spring has got things messed up for them. I have only seen 2 Monarchs, and 1 Eastern Swallowtail, and have not managed a pic.

I know the Monarchs are in danger of habitat loss, and not sure about the swallowtail. I really hope they are more in abundance next season.

When I took this capture I had the camera set up for flash, used the canon 70-300 IS USM lens, and camera was in AV mode with an f/stop of 5.6, focal length 300. Not sure just how much the flash did, but I left it up..

Thank you for the comments, have a nice day.

Tigs♥ =^..^=
