We had beautiful weather yesterday, warm but not real humid, so spent a good part of the day at the Calendar garden. I plan on going back today, before the rain, and humidity return.

This species of butterfly are very active, and just don't sit still for long. I used the 100mm lens tv(shutter speed) 1/1000sec.- AV F5.6-ISO 400-focal length 100.I did a fair amount of cropping on this one.

The sunlight was dancing on him, as he fluttered about.

The (Eastern) Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes), also called the American Swallowtail or Parsnip Swallowtail, is a butterfly found throughout much of North America.
