Play time at cat camp. I used the new Nikon, with the 70-300mm VR lens, and was able to focus through the wire fencing.

Exotic Feline Rescue Center (EFRC) is not a zoo but an exotic cat rescue. They travel all over the US when alerted about the abuse of these wonderful large felines.

They recently had to deal with the canine distemper virus, and they worked so hard to nurse the 15 sick cats back, and did manage to save some of the 15 cats out of over 200 that call EFRC home, but they did loose 8 of their cats, one lion, and the others were tigers, one being only 5 years old, but the other 6 were up in age-over 16 years old.

They were vaccinated, already, and that might have helped from it affecting even more of the big cats.

They were lucky I guess that it did not spread to the rest of the cats, and only had to deal with the nursing of the 16 that contacted the virus.

They have not been able to figure out how they contacted the virus, even testing some racoon's but they were negative.

Just to give you an idea of how much love is put into this cat haven, they were with the dying young tiger to the end, even giving mouth to mouth resuscitation.

It is a hard, and very dirty job but they do it for the big cats. They deserve to live the rest of their lives in a safe home, with clean and large areas to call home.
