The plant is Patterson’s Curse, imported from Europe as seed for flower gardens during the 1800s. It is said to have escaped from the garden of Mr Patterson in Albury. It found conditions favourable and quickly invaded pastureland across three states and proved to be toxic to cows, sheep, horses and pigs. Notice the colour of the pollen on the Bees legs? It apparently makes a very nice honey. Enjoy.
