There are 5 different bugs on this plant! Can you find them? Most are bees or types of flies but I don't know what that one coming up the right side of the flower is and I don't think I want to! I'm not a bug person at all so I summon up my courage when I try to take shots of them as my normal inclination would be to scurry away quickly. This shot is from a prairie restoration project near my home - the land was the Glenview Naval Air Station and when the navy closed it the land was sold off to the village of Glenview who has controlled the development there. This is from their 32 acre prairie restoration project which I hiked around on Monday. I have other images of native Illinois prairie plants I'll post in the coming weeks. This was taken with my new Nikon. PS: My thanks to Wendell(eubeen) who has identified that nasty looking bug on the right side as a RED MILKWEED BEETLE.
