This is a Koken Barber Chair. This one has been in Bannack since the 1860s. They arms are done in red leather and the tips of the arms are made of white porcelain. Sometimes these chairs were also used for dental work. The Koken Mfg Co actually still has two of these antiques, but not dating back as old as this one.One chair weighed almost 300 lbs. Imagine getting that chair to Bannack in those days! There is actually one fully restored Koken chair in Utah(I googled it) and its value is $5650.00! I hope no one ever finds this one at Bannack!
