Hi everyone. This is an unusual request from me (my first such here) - I have a senior student who desperately needs a photo of a burnt leaf - and she needs it by Friday if possible (24 hours!) I was racking my brains and then thought D'oh!!! I know a place where there are heaps of fantastic photographers. Maybe, just maybe, someone has or can take such a photo to email to me? If you can help us out it would be great. Please PM me if you think you can, or respond below. I would need to know fairly quickly. A drawing taken from the photo would form one part of a much larger work. She is one of my best ever, most deserving students. Can anyone help??? Time now is 7pm, Australian Eastern Standard time on Wednesday, August 23.
Thanks, Mum42.

we have our photos!
If you are using PHOTOSHOP .. you have burn and dodge tools available to you .. a little time spent going around the edge of a leaf will provide a burned effect
Stock Xchng has 50 pages of leaves .. (you'll need a free account to download, as you may know)
* .. ignore the "stockXpert" row of images (at the bottom) that show up on the first couple of pages of a search result .. (they = $$)
P.S. .. do you want\need the edges of the leaf visible? .. something unique, like, a maple leaf shape?

Keifer - We did that, but needed something closer to an australian leaf - ie eucalypt. Most US or UK foliage is very different to ours here. Also, most images were of stuff still alive! - no time to teach her photoshop now, either. Thanx though.
DigiCamMan -
the thought had occured to me, but my work is a tad busy right now - 12-16 hour days, just havent had time! (and you all thought we worked 9-3!!!! (its 10:54pm here now)
Thanks for the idea - I had thought about setting up a shot, but it's not so easy to fake a whole scene without a fair bit of time and effort, ......and light. This week I am getting home after dark, and they dont take kindly to random fires at work! Still, that might have been the last resort over the weekend.
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
