This is my first time on this part of the site, and i remember a time way back in my childhood when i entered a comp on Blue Peter which was a well known Childrens program. The comp was to write a lymaric about absolutely anything, remembering that it had to be clean. I had the thought the other day, i would love to see if others knew any or could make one up for us all to read. Remember as Madmaven reminds me, it is a family site. For those who don't know what a lymaric, it is a poem made up of normally five lines. All the lines have to rymn and make sense. They are normally funny, but don't have to be as long as they are clean. Living in Ireland, we have plenty, but i don't wanna start. being a Yorkshire man, I have to have a few to drink before i get up. Anyone wish to start the ball rolling?

I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band, I saw a needle that winked its eye. But I think I will have seen everything When I see an elephant fly. MY GALLERY

A limeric starts a little like this.

There was an old woman from crewe

Now another person has to find a ryme that goes with that intro, with the same rythem etc, It all depends on the rythem in the end.......I had no rythem when I was little.

So as I was saying,

there was an old woman from Crewe
who was stuck on the seat of the loo
She cried and she cried
'till a young voice replied
I'll get help if you'll let me out too.

I know the ryme is rubbish but you get the idea.
