I was thinking.....HALLOWEEN is on the way......and jumping in NOW...gives us all time to make some art/photo/images for that Spooktacular time of year so many love.
People are going to be looking soon for Halloween theme desktops...so why not have a community project and all interested submit some work { member initiated projects} ?
Wouldn't it be great to see ALL genre's jump in and submit for this? Let's see what everybody's got!

If somebody wants to appoint judges.....{ Caedes?},,,,,,FOR BEST 4 HALLOWEEN ENTRIES, I WILL PERSONALLY PAY 1st place winner's CAEDES membership fees for 3 months, and the 2nd place for 2 months,3 and 4th places for 1 month.
I don't want winning to be ONLY for the peasants :) { NON AEDILLES/ CADRE SENATES, ETC}....so if anyone appointed is in "SENATE/CAEDES TEAM, I will offer some equitable prize, such as a gift certificate of some type...{ same monetary value}.
I ASK THAT JUDGES BE FROM EACH ART GENRE.....FRACTAL...COMPUTER GENERATED, PHOTO, etc.....to make this a fair and fun contest. I will submit Halloween work...but my work is NOT part of contest and should NOT be entered when judging. I want NO part of choosing the judges...as I'd love for all to just have FUN....and wake up those lost "MUSES"...and maybe even CAEDES himself will be hopefully interested in making an entry. :) Terri/ MM

We dont celebrate Halloween as our cousins over the pond do!...but I'm will to give it a go!....I try and foto Wor-Lass!....she will do great for the scary of scariest bits?....It will, at least keep the kids 'Away' from the doors LMAO?

Sounds like a good contest theme to me. Maybe we could just go to the personal gallery for some scary halloween desktops lol That is why mine is absent. Kidding aside, this sounds good.

I already have a simple fractal that I've been saving for Halloween ... I think it will be suitable. I made it so long ago ... I better take a look at it.

I did one last year .. can I re-submit that ... you know, if I fail to find my muse (*looks in pumpkin*)

This sounds like are great Idea even though we don't celebrate it yet but give little johhny howard time. Im sure I could come up with a few images for the occasion

HOW WILL JUDGES BE APPOINTED? My offer for prizes { at my expense} is sincere. I am happy to do it....and I also plan to choose the entry I LIKE BEST for my own special bonus winner.....and give a mystery prize. But I NEED somebody to appoint/arrange judges....{sincerely}. I think PINER is one of the most under-rated people on this site. I think he would make an awesome chooser of judges or judge. He just has that "no favoritism" kinda honesty.
I am leaving in a few minutes....{ kinda feeling a bit blue today}....so I am leaving for a long { solitary} all by myself kinda hike in the woods. Maybe somehow...someway...somebody can get some judges appointed / and I apologize....I know I did not know how to properly begin a contest project....nor did I even arrange it's ok with Caedes....so sorry if this is all inconvenient and poorly put together.

Well I don't really think I am qualified to judge anything, but I will say that I believe postaldude66 might be a great person to participate in a judging panel ... he is always honest and forthright with his opinions and critiques.

Robert Trisbert is also a volunteer and I totally admire and believe in his honesty!
I think that we need CAEDES to help here though....since i did not set this up nor have the permission nor proper way to get it set up. PhilcUk is also a good contender as a judge...{ the ole meaniebutt} hehehehe

we don't want anybody that is honest and forthright .. it would be a shock to our systems

So I have a project in the works .... and am pondering another .... this is new to me - the member-initiated stuff ... should I just post them as I finish and put in description inspired by this project???

A few hallowe'en images are starting to show up...anything happening with this idea/

What are the steps for entering a contest?

1) .. create a new artwork ..

2) .. post it to the CONTEST-\-CURRENT gallery

3) .. sit back and bask in your anticipated glory

due to the waving of this rule .. you could change the gallery of a previously posted artwork by clicking the EDIT button on its INFO page
