PETA has just lost the support of my wife and I because of this...some people/groups have no tack and are so closed minded that they think they are the only ones doing good.....

I agree..somebody doesnt have their head screwed on right at PETA! I'm an animal lover but they are too extreme too often for me!

Penn & Teller's segment on them was quite enlightning… in all kinds of BAD ways

I always did think those people were nuts. They turn people off from some legitimate animal advocate groups.
I don't care what they might think, not a single soul can stop that, but have the simple courtesy not to post it on the internet.

Loss of human life, of any kind, is a sad event. I wish nothing for myself, Caedes.net, PETA, my friends here or there or any affiliate / organization. My thoughts and feelings go to the "family" who lost something special; a dad, son, husband, uncle....a person.

nice comments, Randy. what PETA is conveniently omitting, or ignoring, is that Steve Irwin's 'stunts' were always worked somehow into a lesson, or demonstration of the given animals instincts, prowess, capabilities, and so on. It's not like he was just some loon looking to make a buck.

I never learned (<<that's a joke) anything from Mr. Irwin that I recall...sorry. Well, maybe to be quick on your feet. "Crikey that sheilas fast"...who's this Sheila he keeps talkin' 'bout? Sorry, I tease when feelin' blue. A wonderful naturalist and conservationist of whom TV land thought...Hmmm, we could make a buck here. Steve signed and tried to get "his" message across as best as possible, yet "our" TV gods are in charge, aren't they? TV sucks although I watch it everyday...we should start a World wide holiday....no TV, no PC's or internet...one day...that's all.

Unbelievable.. do those people read the reports or listen to the outcomes of what happend??????? If he put his hand out he couldn't touch it he was above it.. the stingray moved and flicked it's tail to move on.. even the Scientists, Jacque Coustause (I know wrong spelling) and the police etc have said.. he was at a safe distance it was just one of those unlucky things... Some people just amaze me... Over here up North some idiots went on a stingray hunt, they killed and cut off the tails and threw them on the beach.. What is the point of that.. are the stingrays gonna say... wow these guys are angry, better run?? lol.. Its not anyones fault, not Steves and not the Stingrays... end of story... I rest my case... Now i'll go back into my corner...

you know jac… that kind of reminds me of when they put down the bears @ the Prospect Park Zoo… for mauling & 1/2 eating 2 idiot boys who broke in during the nite, entered their enclosure and taunted them. cuz yeah… the bears were SO likely to do it again. hmmm… those 2 boys belong on the darwin awards thread under the "nominees" category I think

Steve Irwin was genuinely interested in researching, educating and conservation. He didn't take completely outrageous chances and PETA's attitude is disgusting.

And that is totally f**ked up about PETA...I have always supported animal rights, but PETA (to me) has always been a bit outrageous. I was sad to hear of Steve Irwin's death, he was "insane" and we all joked about it (he was sometimes laughed at, but he always laughed WITH us), but in the end, he taught us to respect animals, and did alot of good things for conservation. I really hope that Terri Irwin continues what he started.
