Hi guys,
I'm in the planning stages of putting together a digital art exhibit for our local Cultural Arts Center in upstate NY. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in having your gallery featured and possible submitting a bio with details of your unique "creative process". I'm even toying with the idea of having some artists conference call in at scheduled times during the exhibit to take questions from the patrons and/or conduct tutorials via the Net.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, and if you have worked on a similar project, I'd love to hear about it.
Not only would it give great exposure to the Caedes community, it could help promote the works of several talented artists here as well.
Again, this concept is in the early planning stages and no dates or details have been set in stone. So throw out your ideas or thoughts, and if you're interested in participating, I'll note your name and contact you as things firm up.
Thanks to all for reading my post and considering this opportunity!
I'd love the idea of others beyond the Community getting to see my work, but I already have a pretty full schedule with school and keeping down a part time job, so I'm kind of strapped for time for anything else...Let me know what becomes of this...

Thanks for your reply! I totally understand being strapped for time... as I'm sure most of us are... but if you're willing, I could still link to your gallery with no involvement on your part other than just displaying your works to the world (aka Northern NY), LOL. Let me know if that's fine with you.
It sounds like a terrific idea, Smoosh, but I am not a very experienced digital artist and might not be able to respond to questions. I don't have a particular 'creative process' that I am aware of. I'd say I am more aware of my shortcomings. Perhaps you could approach some of the really genuinely great artists here in a PM. Your idea to expose Caedes to others is great! Cindy
Thanks Rob & Cindy! I would be happy to link to as many digital artists here as I can. My vision is to place several computers (from handheld PC's to wall mounted, widescreen monitors) around the gallery and have each one focus on a different artist's work. I plan to teach a few classes to the youth on desiging in Photoshop, how to use a wacom tablet, etc.
The cultural center has received a few grants that will help underwrite the exhibit and I'm also hoping to get our local Best Buy on board as a sponsor of the show, if they can donate some equipment and geek squad members to volunteer as docents.
I don't think this will be too difficult to put together, but it's timing with the Cultural Center's other exhibits.
Thanks again for your input! You guys & gals are great!

If I had the talent, I surely would....:) But I shall say that I think it is a very nice thing you want to do....and hopefully some of the talented people here will help out! Love & hugs, Terri
What do you mean "IF" Miss Terri! ;) You are brimming with talent my dear. Not to mention beauty, wit & charm. muah! Luv ya hon... thanks for your support.
omg between nathan and terri, not sure who wins the "let's see how much i can underrate myself" contest... two of our more talented artists at the site, IMHO
i admire modesty, but nathan especially... that's just a bunch of hooey, sir :o)
Very exciting - GREAT idea! I would love to be involved if you would have me. And if not - trust me, there will be no offense taken, as there are so many more talented folks here. Nonetheless, if you would like me to help out with anything just fly me a request with what you need. I would love to assist you in your efforts here!

PS- JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS, I JUST CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THE THANK YOU'S AND STILL HAVE TIME TO ENJOY ALL YOUR BEAUTIFUL WORK - SO PLEASE KNOW THAT I APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!!!!
Thanks Sandy! Actually I can probably accommodate as many artists that would like to participate, since it's meant to be a fluid exhibit. Like the Internet, ever changing, I would like to expose the viewers to as many different styles and digital art forms as possible. Again... time wise, the show may not happen for a few months, but I wanted to test the waters and see who might be interested in this sort of thing. I think it will be lots of fun. A Caedes traveling show of sorts? Hope Senor Caedes will give his blessing too! LOL :)
i would think that if you have the blessings and willful cooperation of the artists whose work you're exhibiting, he'd give his blessings too. afterall, it's more publicity for the site as a whole...
True... and during the educational portions of the exhibit, I wanted to encourage the youth/adults who are interested to join the community and start contributing their own works of art. So it's a community building & awareness event! LOL
I would like to participate, but I would not want all my photos shown, since as everyone here knows I post some just for fun. I think a few of my bird photos might get a few comments, keep me posted.

...off topic, but in the "exhibit" take this image, redo it so the letters are the same physical size...then make it so big, like from ceiling to floor, 7ft wide...
...but that's if you wanna grab some attention. =P
Awesome Piner, thanks! And just a quick update for the rest of you who were interested... I am currently researching grants to help us fund the exhibit. We're definitely thinking after the first of the year. If it goes well, then we plan to run the exhibit again in the Summer to coincide with some youth computer camps. I think it could be really fun for all involved, and again... give you some great exposure for your work.
Sorry the details aren't coming faster, but for anyone who has done grant work, you know it can easily take 6 - 12 months to process everything and get approval. Stay tuned!
You know...I forgot to give you a response on the aformentioned note above...(or did I in a PM...I don't know...too much going on at once!)...Yes go ahead and use my gallery as well...

Another update... I talked to my local Best Buy today and they seem interested in working with us to pull this show together. It will be a great opportunity for them to get some positive press in supporting local non-profits and the arts, while showcasing some of their software/technology. Still a long road ahead... but one step closer to fruition.
Talk to you all soon!
PS - I have been super busy with my business, so I apologize for having not posted or commented much lately.
Thanks so much guys! I appreciate your support & enthusiasm. I am still in the grant research/writing phase, but hope to have more info to share after the first of the year. Stay tuned!
