Don't mind Les....he obviously didn't have his bran flakes this morning.......as to your question, if you are serious that is, you seem to be on the right track...talk with other music people in your area, you would be suprised as to how much informtion you can acquire just by networking with teachers, music store owners, outside band members, college music departments, etc.

Okay like ... I'm betting your young, right ? Like you should do yourself a favor & do as Carrie suggessted, like it's a great way to get yourself started.
And you will appreciate your succees all the more when you have worked for it.

And for the record. I know many musicians who have made a pretty nice living by playing local bars, etc...but...if you aren't of legal age, you may have problems.

What sort of music do you play? that makes a big difference in how much work you get.. my sons got a band and its taken them almost 3 years to finally after doing free gigs to get their name out locally they are now getting decent gigs and record a cd... it takes a hell of a lot of time, first of all hit all the local clubs, put a myspace website up.. look up websites that have the same kind of music as you and add them to your friends lists.. put a sample on your website.. there are lots of things to do but the main thing is GET OUT THERE AND GET YOUR NAME INTO THE LOCAL SCENE... Record deals are very hard to get... basically you have to be at the right place at the right time.. do a demo of a couple of songs and take it or send it to every radio station in your city.... reality is you wont get a "record" deal unless you are excellent, different or know someone in the business...

Another word of advice, don't ever attack my friends or single them out the way you have done especially with Keith... or I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN SUNSHINE... he's a very good friend of mine and known to many people on here, its not a good way to get help or advice when you attack a member who has been here for a long time... as far as I can see he didnt say anything that warranted that outburst and threat, especially when a lot of other members were joking around too.. and that is EXACTLY what it was.. joking around... yes your young and you have to understand us oldies like to joke around to forget about our work, kids and day to day life for awhile....

Don't be a jerk. Jaq made a couple suggestions there, but apparently you only caught part of it. You owe a few apologies for your threats...not that it scared anyone, but it was VERY rude and uncool.

And if you read back, a couple suggestions to your band was made as well, so just be humble and say thank you.

If you can't handle some fun, find another forum. We old farts bash the yungin's alot, ask Andrew or Timmy, but it is all in fun and we are never malicious...and generally they can dish it back pretty well. If you want ANY advice...don't make enemies here. Caedes members are from all around the world. If you want your music heard, perhaps you may consider trying to make friends, and once you do (after apologizing for being a creep) we may actually be open to hearing your music, giving you our input, and possibly passing it on to someone who may pass it on to someone else. You keep with your attitude though, and you will get nothing but crap, and NOBODY will want anything to do with you. Time to grow up...you want things to happen for you in adult world, try acting like an adult.

Well Eric that is the issue with your Dad not us and most teenagers have problems with their Dads its a natural part of life... you need to realise not everyone is like your Dad, people on here actually are nice and helpful.. you dont just get on here and single out one person when others are doing the same thing and you dont threaten someone like that just because you have a short temper and are pissed at your father... your 16 you have your life ahead of you.. and I will tell you the same as I tell my son.. if you keep that attitude up, you will get nowhere in the music industry, friends and work...

As for me.. In the middle of my comment (which I dont think you even bothered to read because from the sounds of it you are more intent on my response to your attitude) I gave you advice... I have a 16 yr old son like I said who is in a band and I have given you tips on how to get your name out there the same way my son did... Its a lot of hard work, a lot of communication (which you need to improve on attitude wise because if you treat people the way you have treat people on here you will find a lot of closed doors... so stop with the anger and attitude if you want to make it), next get a phone book and find all the local clubs - most places will let you play as long as there is someone the legal age with you.. enter as many band contests as you can.. If there are charity concerts put your bands name down for that too.. you'll find you probably won't get paid for these but its getting your band out into the public...

I listen to all different kinds mainly because I grew up with different genre of music, my dad was into classical and old school rock, my mother rock n roll, I grew up with 70's and 80's stuff and my kids are into Heavy Metal.. so I like a lot of stuff..
