I like the comics page..but why wont the back arrow on my browser (IE6) work from there? One of your links on the left of the home page takes you to an error page (white screen). I got caught in your mirror site & couldnt get back here without having to go to my home page first.

Btw, I did discover what you were talking about, and I fixed it for the comic site. I make it a point not to use IE, so it isn't too surprising that I didn't find that...

If you use IE, I would consiter the scope of the page most likely beyond them.
Its only so popular because it is bundled with the operating system.
definately not for its compatibility!

All I'm saying is that making it compatable with Internet Explorer and sticking with W3C standards is an impossible task. I'd rather stick with the W3C than with IE anyway.

...i think sam was asking me (or maybe you werent)...which i said above in one of my comments something around the lines of: "I shouldof never asked...nothing can be done. Other than that is there anything else i can change..like, er, colors, etc."
...but but, i'm going to pester *him* enough to make his webpage IE compatible. But hey, it's his site. grr.

It isn't my fault that the domain-redirect breaks the back button on the redirect to the actual server in Internet Explorer. It works fine in EVERY other browser!

Its a catch-22, as I've stated. If I set it so it won't break the back button for that page, it will break it for EVERY page. There wouldn't be a problem, EXCEPT, there is IE, coming once again to agonize every decent web developer.

Timmie it's quite alright, iggy all of them fools. The select few will understand and use your website, quite happy in it's snobbish disregard for the majority of the internet population.

OK... I may not know alot about programing and what-not... But I can say, what I'm seeing is someone with their blinders fully in place. It looks like Timmie has already made up his mind that his way is the best and only way, without regards to how others surf the internet, in the form of their internet browser.
He can love the person browsing the internet, but he cannot condone the use of IE. And, as such, will not support it.

Dumb question, but isn't the whole point of creating a site, so that people will visit it? and one more if i may... don't most people who create sites look for the maximum visitation, or hits?
Really, my site is about seeing what I can do...but I feel IE limits me by forcing me to break my W3C compliant code just for it to work the same way in IE. Microsoft is part of the W3C, WHY DON'T THEY COMPLY WITH STANDARDS THEY AGREED TO?

well, what's more important to you? i know we've been teasing you about it incessantly, but honestly. since you already know this problem exists, and you arent, as an individual, going to get microsoft to change, wouldn't it make more sense for you to change whatever code you're using, since ultimately, it's YOU that wants other people to see your site.... *shrug* this is what's known as the big picture. what you're doing is maintaining tunnel vision... i know, i do it alot myself, and in the long run, it's proven to be counter-productive. so, my young friend, learn from themistakes of others. you're right! congrats. now move on...it's the healthy thing to do.
The issue isn't that I can't do it, its that doing so would be catering to ONE specific browser, breaking the code in EVERY other browser. You can't make me! ;øP

I've got NEWS for you ... when you are interviewing for a job as web-mistress .. and they ask about your IE compatibility .. RANTING about IE is not good tact
and ... if your website is about what YOU can do .. and a prospective employer visits it, and can't get out ... your AOL email box will not be saying "you've got mail" on that day
Actually, it is not hard to create a site for most popular browsers without work-arounds. Just code within the subset of W3C standards supported by all the borwsers you are interested in serving. Also, realize that HTML and CSS is not designed to provide pixel-exact control over the brower; think of it more as a suggestion to the browser.

Maybe I am being nearsighted, (by the way I do have myopia) but Internet Explorer simply isn't acceptable! Opera and Firefox both have better features and security, and they render pages closer to W3C standards. Most people using Internet Explorer don't know better, or are too stubborn to realize how bad of a browser it is!
