I started trying to upload an image a while ago. According to Firefox, the script has still not completed and I have not recived the usual success message. However, apart from my failing to make a link correctly, the image seems to have uploaded fine - it is in the gallery and I downloaded a copy in a converted size with apparent success.
The upload script never seems to agree with Firefox very well, but this seems to be taking disagreement to extremes. Is it safe to stop the script or is it really still doing something?
Probably around 2.5 hours - absolute minimum of 2. I think it had been going for about an hour before my initial post,. It always takes a while and sometimes longer than others, so I didn't initially think twice about it.
Once again, I uploaded an image and the script never finished. I didn't let it run as long this time, but I checked it was uploaded OK and downloaded the generated size matching my desktop before stopping the script.
Is there a way around this? It is really annoying.
I think I need to re-evaluate the way images are handled after uploading. I think it is clear that it is taking too long to process the images right after they are uploaded. I will probably change it so that we accept the upload right away and process the image (make smaller sizes) at a later time (like a minute or two later).
