I wonder how this might work placing a leaf inside a pinhole shoe box? Has anyone tried this technique?

I think they were busy building an empire at the time....imagine if they had though - we probably never would have been treated to conventional artistic masterpieces from the likes of Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Caravaggio etc.

yes, but he couldnt capture the image - only sit in a dark room and stare at it :-)
