As per this discussion, would it be possible to have a seperate "Friends" and "Artists" list.

The "Friends" list would be like an address book for keeping track of the people you often PM etc. but would not notify you of their uploads; the "Artist" list would act in the same way as the current "Friends" list (ie it would notify you of the artists uploads and provide a list which you could add or remove names to/from). Alternatively you could add a radio button to the current "Friends" list which would allow people to select the artists who's uploads they would be notified of.

I could see this working the way DeviantArt does their DeviantWatches...great idea Sam...
