For another "other stuff" addition. Recognize those people, with a listing, who have over 10 photos submitted to Caedes with high average c-indexes. Yes we can see a photo and go to their profile and see all their photos. But, if they have not submitted anything lately we might miss their photo. It would be like"the most active members" but a recognition, pat on the back. You could make a cutoff limit for the average or limit it to the top 100 or so.
You used to be able to view a list of users that was sorted by c-index but that was removed becuase people treated it like a contest to try to get to the top and it became a popularity contest... some people even went to the effort of sabotaging other peoples votes or creating new members to vote on their own images... for this reason I don't think your idea will be taken up, although it sounds good in principle there are a few petty people around who would spoil it for everyone else.
There are still clearly a lot of members obsessing on the importance of the c-index and I’d imagine that this would just amplify that, regardless of how the images are voted on, as it did before.
There are cheaters around every corner but the new system reduces the cheating unless you can get the right photo in the VB. I know from other comments, some people don't want to make "friends" as they feel compelled to respond to each submission. It's only an idea. (scratches head and walks away)
If the c-index is so unimportant why have it at all? Isn't it a general barometer of ones work? If not why play the game? Let's just put our pics up and go to bed.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Given the volume of work on the site here ... it would aid some of the viewers in finding some of those not so active artists that still submitted some excellent work, a little more quickly.
Sorting galleries by the infamous C-Index would achieve that as well, I suppose. But, as far as a type of recognition? I think it is a good idea.
This coming from a Canadian ... so, not quite two cents worth, mind you. :oP
The prize is finding those who consistently have excellent photos. Yes, you can check the profile of every good c-index but it would take a while to find those who consistently upload great photos. As bad as the c-index is, at least it is fair for everyone. I still can't vote for some of the best photos I have seen. No prize, no punishment.
