WOW...great post, keith. and for the record, i'm a purist, but an open-minded one
i do think an image can be a great image after being manip'ed, but i still maintain that the primary concern should be getting a good shot first, and then making it 'better'. ok, i'm done.. having said that, those pic's were amazing. and no, i wouldn't mind playing with a few of them, esp the Chrysler Building

the way I view it .. is .. in my opinion digital cameras usually need a little help getting BACK to the reality of what was there .. a nudge .. a hand up ... compared to film
but ... where is it written that you can't have the "original" image, (possibly stored away.. safe) .... AND ... an art piece such as what Mitchell Funk is putting forth
whether it is your cup of tea or not .. if you were to browse a museum, and view the same photos Mr. Funk used .. but as Original photos ... then walked another 20 yards and came across Mr Funk's Colorful renditions of the same works
His would make a more lasting impression ... good or bad .. depending on your taste, of course
I just know somebody will disagree with this ... ;o)

I don't disagree either ... but then again ... one would be have to be a tad daffy to ... AHEM ... disagree with a Moderator ... especially one with a CROWN sitting upon his dome. :P)
