I need help with making links please! I don't know how to do them. Some people showed me how, but I still don't understand it. Would someone explain it to me in a very detailed way, step by step, like a mini tutorial. Thank you so much for responses. Josette :)
To make that link I copied and pasted the text from the FAQ, replaced "http://asdf.com/" with "http://rescope.com.au/" and changed "asdf.com" to "Here is my site".
The funny part is Keith tried for months & months, I mean ... really, literally months, to try & teach me to link. If you look on my user page, you'll see all my practice links. :D
Dave's version is the easiest, I'm sure the FAQ are right, but they never worked for me.
Oh ! And when you do your first link, be sure & put something really cool & creative as the name of your link ... you know, like " Ha ! I can too link ...all you losers out there ! "
I don't really see how Caves version is easier as you still have to find this thread to copy it from. It's just as easy to copy it from the FAQ (which is easier to find) and then you don't have to change anything except the address and the description (whereas with Daves version you also have to change the @'s to a's). So my way is easier *pokes out tongue*
Actually all the versions are exactly the same. You just type in (a href="http://blahblahbhalbh")blah(/a) and whala! A link, took me 5 seconds. No copying or pasting.
Just remember:
1) Use the < > carrots around the html stuff.
2) The html stuff is 'a href="http://link.com",' at the beginning, and "/a" at the end to cancel out the first part, otherwise it wont work.
3) Type in something between the two html stuff stuff, and there ya go.
...of course you have to replace the ('s )'s with <'s >'s.
